The international research and practical conference “The Gorky Readings” was held in the writer’s hometown, Nizhny Novgorod, on March 28–30, 2024. Participants included scholars, researchers of Maxim Gorky’s work, and staff from cultural institutions such as libraries, archives, and museums.
The conference focused on issues related to Gorky’s cultural initiatives in Russia, his mentorship of young writers, efforts to protect cultural heritage, and his influential role in the creation of a wide network of publishing institutions.
