The book introduces readers to the activities of the Estonian fleet in the War of Liberation of 1918-1920, which has received undeservedly little attention in historiography. We had to start almost from scratch, but in just a year we managed to create a significant fighting force. In addition to direct military activities, the safe movement of ships in Estonian waters was ensured, lighthouses and sea signs, communication routes and ports were organized. All this was a prerequisite for receiving foreign assistance, without which little Estonia would not have been able to cope. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Estonia could not manage without its naval forces.
