This book is a collection of materials delivered at the conference “The End of the Cold War: New Facts and Aspects” held in Saratov in 2001. The articles included into the collection are devoted to the last period of the Russian-American confrontation. The articles are collected in three groups: influence of the Cold War on Soviet society, influence of personal factors on internal and external processes, and transformation of relations in the periphery as a result of the end of the Cold War.
