The book is a new edition of the world Tibetan studies monograph which is still the most full systematic statement of the Tibetan historical literature. It covers such important genres of the Tibetan literature as dynastic chronicles, histories of teaching, chronicles, biographies, etc. Notes to the main text contain rich reference material which is as valuable as these genres. The monograph’s text contains a table of Tibetan chronology conversion into the European calendar, a row of references and bibliography of the works on Tibetan history and historiography till the year 2006.
