The present historical and ethnographic research is devoted to the Russians in Dagestan, who make up 6,8% of the Republic of Dagestan's population. The formation and settling of the Russian population in Dagestan is traced, its social, economic, political, ethnic and cultural development is considered. Special attention is paid to the mutual influence and enrichment of the Russian and local cultures.
