The author of the present monograph makes an attempt to describe the essence of national concepts of "love" in the comparative aspect, to discover their international and specific traits. Special attention is paid to religious beliefs, especially biblical concepts of "lust", "Christian love" and others. The author also regards ways and means of realization of the concept of "love" in different types of languages, such as Mari (Finno-Ugric), Russian (Slavonic), French (Romanic). The research is based on diverse materials: aphorisms, biblical texts and others.
