Kanat Omar is a poet, prose writer, and translator. Born in 1971. Graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Culture with a degree in film director. Published in the magazines “Air”, “Volga”, “Colon”, “Literratura”, “New Youth”, “Rhinoceros”, “Circus Olympus + TV”, “Emigrant Lyre”, TextOnly and others. Participant in the anthologies “Reality and Dreams” : New poetry of Kazakhstan”, “Ulysses Unbound”, “Anthologies of anonymous authors” and so on. Author of five books of poetry. Editor of the multilinguistic magazine ANGIME. The poems have been translated into English, Spanish, Kazakh, Chinese, German, Portuguese, Serbian and French. Lives in Astana.
