In addition to the text of the last Chekhov's play presented in Russian and Italian, the book includes scenic comments of the two largest directors of the XXth century – A.V. Efros and J. Streler. The performances took place at the Moscow Taganka theater and Teatro Piccolo in Milan in the season of 1974-1975. The book is illustrated with photos of play scenes.
