The study analyzes the working methods and approaches of historians and linguists concerning the study of the Bulgarian Middle Ages as reflected in the country's earliest and longest-running university science periodical, the Yearbook of the Faculty of History and Philology at Sofia University, in the period from 1905 to 1945. The authors' main lines of research are identified.
