The book focuses on significant aspects of the life of the first Czechoslovak president Tomas Garrigue Masaryk in a clear and readable form and offers a basic orientation on the topic. It deals with his childhood, student years, family, academic pursuits and political engagement. It presents a profiled personality of Czech society, an actor in many causes, who also gained fame abroad. Masaryk is shown as a son, father, politician, scientist, professor and statesman, as a man who surpassed his time in public activity and private life.
