Based on unique archival materials, the book is devoted to urgent and little studied problem of Ukrainian history: 'Alcoholic Policy and Sobriety Movement in Western Ukraine in the XIXth - the 30s of the XXth Century'. The role of 'alcoholic factor' in Ukrainian history is analyzed. Realization of the alcoholic policy in Galychyna and other Ukrainian regions is reflected. Different aspects of development of sobriety movement in Ukraine are presented by the author.
