The book represents hypotheses about the life and death mysteries of Tamerlan, one of the most tyrannical conquerors in the world’s history. Why did his name cause unfeigned horror even 400 years after his death? Why did his image inspire tyrants and dictators of all countries? Why did one of the bloodiest wars in a powerful country start on the day, when his tomb was opened? Why is his name connected with many of the important events of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945? The author of the book is trying to answer these and other questions, basing on memoirs by the contemporaries, results of the archeological expeditions, recorded hypotheses, mysterious “formulas”, legends etc.
