In 1939, the Tallinn sea fortress consisted of coastal batteries located in Aegna, Naissaari, Suurup and Viimsi. The book describes the armament, structure and management of the sea fortress, the takeover of the fortress by the USSR in the summer of 1940 and the participation of coastal defense artillery in the Battle of Tallinn in August 1941. It also provides an overview of the coastal and air defense of Tallinn during the German occupation of 1941-1944 and the Finns' participation in it.
