Svetlana Katkova was born in 1941 in the family of the Belarusian artist Sergey Katkov. She graduated from the Minsk Art College, Belarusian State Theater and Art Institute. She studied with Vladimir Stelmashonka, Alexander Kishchenko, Ivan Stasevich. She is a laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus (as part of a creative group) for the creation of a memorial complex "To Children - Victims of the Great Patriotic War" in the village of Krasny Bereg. Works in easel painting, graphics, in various genres of arts and crafts. The works are in the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus, the Tretyakov Gallery (Russia), the BSH funds, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the National Polotsk Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, as well as in galleries and private collections in Belarus and abroad.
