I.A.Bunin, the first Russian writer to win the Nobel Prize in literature, is considered to be the creator of the reference, so-called “brocade prose”. This edition contains Bunin’s prose from “The Little Roman” till the book “The Dark Alleys”, which is arguably the most widely read 20th-century collection of short stories in Russia. “The Dark Alleys” is published in the author’s edition in 1946, which included novels omitted in the majority of the soviet time editions (“Guest”, “Young Lady Clara”, “Iron Wool”).
