Latvian transition period resulted in many social problems, one of which is homeless children. Although laws of Latvia protect the rights of all children, there still has not been found any adequate solution to the problem. The work traces current legislation of Latvia, describes changes in social security system, and analyses consequences of this social catastrophe.
