The work is devoted to the activity of outstanding Georgian diplomats of the second half of XVIII c. - beginning of the XIX c.: David Kvinikhidze, Solomon Lionidze, Garsevan Chavchavadze... The last name should be known to all interested in history of Georgia. Garsevan Chavchavadze took part in constitution of so called "Georgian Treaty" of 1783 according to which Georgia found itself under the patronage of Russian Empire. The details of diplomatic collisions evolving in the background of the world superpowers struggle for influence in Transcaucasia, the extracts from the original documents such as international agreements and diplomatic correspondence, hidden factors causing sudden turns in world history and the achievements and failures of talented Georgian politicians are examined in this unique publication.
