The research is devoted to state strategy of the Chinese People’s Republic in the sphere of education, its development and specific features: national and those conditioned by a transitional period. The monograph which covers nearly a quarter of a century of reforms (from 1978 to 2002) is based on a wide sources and literature in Russian, English and Chinese. The work is focused on the analysis of different methods applied by the state in the system of education (political, legal, economic), the role of upbringing in a traditional state system of China, influence of the global trends on the national educational strategy.
