This book by D.Khmelnitsky - an architect, historian of architecture and publicist - provides a thorough review of the process of appearance, development and ruin of Stalin architecture during the thirty years of its existence - from the late 1920-s till the late 1950-s. The events of architectural life are described as a part of a general soviet history, against the extensive historical background and in the correlation with the political, economic and cultural events of that time.
