The collective monograph is devoted to the causes, scope and consequences of the repressions of the communist regime against the population of the western Ukrainian lands in 1939–1953. The authors of the publication trace the patterns and characteristic features that reveal the dynamics and direction of Stalinist repressions. Emphasis is placed on the use by repressive bodies of proven methods of mass deportation of the unlucky and their family members, members of such organizations as "Prosvita", pressure on representatives of various religious denominations.
