There are two main aspects in the book: the forming of a museum network in the Far Eastern region in the 1920s- 1930s years and its forcible reorientation from the scientific institutions into the ideological centers. In this connection the consideration of the theme of museum construction in a context with Russian culture and its heritage in the whole and in the close contact with the forming of lore studies in the Far Eastern region is the undoubted merit of the book.
