Source study of culture is a specialized discipline within historical phenomenology. The new direction in studying history and culture is characterized with a particular attention towards the tact of real consciousness of a certain historical era. Source studies of culture posit the primacy of sources over any other forms of preliminary knowledge of research results. The "strict science" considers its primary foundation to consist not of hypotheses and conjectures of scholars, but of the experience of immediate observation of the source reality. The collection includes new archival materials, such as the diary and the photo album of a Wehrmacht soldier, attempts at historical and phenomenological reconstruction of the ideas of death and pledge among the Middle Ages' people, discussion materials on the significance of the imaginary in historians' interpretations, research into the character of academic interpretation in the epics studies in the XXth century, and other articles.
