Sona Valentova (1946), a leading representative of lyrical characters, fragile women, but also passionate fateful dominatrixes. In the Slovak National Theatre (SND), she played almost ninety tragic and comic roles, directed not only by her husband Pavel Haspra, but also in productions by Karol L. Zachar, Petr Mikulik, Jozef Palka, Jozef Bednarik, Lubomir Vajdicka and Roman Polak. With her personality and style of speech, Sona Valentova always brought originality, specificity and acting flexibility to the stage, in front of the camera and microphone. Through her life as an actress, the development of Slovak dramatic acting in the second half of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century can be traced. The [book] does not follow the actress' private life, nor is it an adoration of an exceptional artist, but a sober theatrical evaluation of her acting individuality. The author's goal is to analyze Valent's acting style, with all the essential social and cultural contexts that influenced theatrical events and thus the formation of the SND ensemble.
