The book treats issues in the theory of social structure, notably the evolution of social class structure of the Soviet and post-Soviet society. Special consideration is given to the transformation of social structure of Russian society in the period of reforms (from the early 1990s to the present). The author suggests ways of surmounting the social-economic crisis, and improving of demographic situation in Russia.
