This monograph examines various aspects of the social development of modern Russia from a regional perspective. The main directions of demographic, scientific, educational, socio-cultural development of the territories are shown. The state of labor potential, labor resources and quality of life of the population is characterized. The issues of reproduction of social innovations as a factor in sustainable development of territories are covered.
The work is based on materials from studies of problems of social development of territories carried out at the Voluntary Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1997–2021, and data from Rosstat and Vologdastat.
