The study explores the relationship between philosophy and science in Bulgaria. It identifies three periods characterized by varying degrees of philosophical reflection on science: the Pre-reflexive Period (early 1920s to mid-1960s), the Reflexive Period (from the 1960s until the present day) and an anticipated Post-reflexive Period. The author recalls the dogmas of the ideologically biased philosophy of science during the Soviet era. He shows how the genie went very much out of the ideological bottle during the Reflexive Period, ushering in philosophical pluralism vis-a-vis the development of science.
