Volume III of the almanac Slovenica (is being published since 2010) is dedicated to the centenary of World War I. It is based on the proceedings of the Russian-Slovenian «round-table» (with the same title) organised by the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in June 2013, and the materials presenting some results of bilateral research projects pursued by the Institute of Slavic Studies together with the University of Primorska (Koper), the Institute of Civilization and Culture and M. Kos Historical Institute (Ljubljana). The volume considers important and less investigated problems of Slovenian history, aspects of the Russian-Slovenian relations during the First World War, and impact of the war on the further historic development of the Russians and Slovenians. The book is addressed to the experts in history, literature, culture of Russia and Slovenia, to a wide readers\' audience interested in history.
