The monograph is devoted to the complex examination of semantics of set expressions with the names of animals, which take special place in the phraseology of the Russian literary language and dialects. The book is written on the basis of rich phraselogical material (more than 2000 of word-combinations). The description of internal peculiarities has a complex character and includes recreation of fragments of the world picture, denominated by zoonomia set phrases, its component structure, interrelation between character of breaking-up of extralinguistic reality and peculiarity of lexical meaning of phraseologies. Theoretical regulations have made a significant contribution to the lexical semantics, presenting a new trend in phraseology - phraseological ideography.
