The volume contains unpublished studies of one of the leaders of the Bulgarian political emigration after September 9, 1944 - Tsenko Barev. They were written at different times and under very different circumstances. The first three were written in 1947 during his three-year stay in the concentration camp for refugees from the Balkan communist regimes on the Greek island of Syros, the last is a written version of a speech he gave in Paris in 1956 to young activists of the Bulgarian National Committee. The remaining studies, dedicated to agricultural management and the Bogomil movement, were written in the 1960s and 1970s. Although very different in subject matter, they also have a number of common features. All of them radiate journalistic expressiveness, conscientiousness and correctness to the facts of the past and faith in the better future of the Bulgarian people after the end of the communist dictatorship.
