The monograph views historic and cultural processes in the forest-steppe Tobol region in the early Iron Age. The monuments of Sargat culture, left by the numerous and highly developed population, inhabiting once the south of Western Siberia, are analyzed. The development characteristics of ancient tribes of the Middle Tobol Region are studied; the questions of chronology, cultural bonds with the population of Urals, Kazakhstan, Southern Siberia and Central Asia are highlighted. The author reconstructs the main traits of the way of life, economy and sepulchral ceremony, characterizes the social structure of the ancient society. A lot of new archaeological materials are published; methods of natural philosophy and exact sciences are widely used. The book is meant for archaeologists, ethnographers, and students of local lore.
