A wide range of problems connected with the life of Russian diaspora in Bessarabia after its joining Romania is viewed in the book. The author analyzes methods used by Romanian administration in order to turn the Russian territory into a Romanian province, paying special attention to the ethnic policy. On the basis of archival materials, the struggle of the Russian population for the preservation of the native language, cultural traditions and values is discussed.
