The present second edition of the book comprises 189 letters of the noblewoman Olga Tolstaya-Voejkova within the period of 1927-1930. Olga Aleksandrovna wrote from the Soviet Union to her eldest daughter, eldest son and granddaughters who were in exile in Manchuria. From these letters the reader can learn a lot about an everyday life in the Soviet Union (not only in Leningrad, but in Ulyanovsk and Moscow) in those years and evaluate the epistolary gift of their author.
