The book is dedicated to the history of the formation and development of the system of medical care for residents of Chelyabinsk, famous and "forgotten" doctors. Based on archival documents, including little-studied to date, literary sources, periodicals and other materials, a list and brief biographies of doctors who worked in the city of Chelyabinsk, starting from the 18th century and until the beginning of the 20th century, have been compiled. Information about the doctors presented in the book does not pretend to be complete, but is the basis for further study of their lives and work. A significant part of the text reflects the history of the development of the first city hospital, the only one in the city for a long time.
