The proposed publication outlines the events of modern Ukrainian history over the past seven decades. In particular, it substantiates the leading role of Ukraine in the collapse of the Soviet Union, identifies the patterns of the transformation of the former Soviet republic into an oligarchic state, dependent in everything on Russia, in which the Leninist-Stalinist system of power and property was steadily transforming into a new type of totalitarianism - rashism. The complex process of the transformation of oligarchic Ukraine into a democratic state is analyzed.
