This book tells the story of the battles of the Estonian Division combat group led by Alfons Rebas on the south and north banks of the Emajogi River, as well as the escape from the encirclement during the retreat in September. In parallel, there is also a story about the second combat group led by Paul Vent, whose fate was different. In addition to the battle descriptions of Rebas' soldiers, which are assembled as a mosaic from fragments published in various sources, the book also devotes much attention to the life of the prominent Estonian officer Alfons Rebas during peace and war.
