The book was written by the former chief architect of the city Barnaul Sergey Bozhenko. In the late 90s of the last century, he led an initiative group of Barnaul residents who wanted to erect a monument to the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. Well-known writers, artists and actors in the city then caught fire with this idea. Mayor Vladimir Bavarin supported the initiative, he agreed on a place to install the monument, but there were no funds for its creation in the city budget. As a result, the monument was erected with public money. However, there were people who opposed the appearance of this sculpture in Barnaul. The whole story can now be read in Sergei Bozhenko's book.
