The author of the book is a professional philologist and expert in literature. The suggested interpretations are based on the detailed analysis of texts by Pushkin and facts of his biography. A great contribution to the Pushkin studies was the discovery of the concept of a big novel, at which Pushkin worked since 1828 till the end of his life and which he left in the form of separated fragments. Some fragments are published in the collections of works by Pushkin under the title “extracts and sketches”, others are represented as independent works. All together they are read as parts of a large work, which includes prose and poems.
