Young aristocrat William Harris lives an ordinary life: he likes to read, play chess with his friends and walk around the city. Owning a chain of hardware stores and several bookstores, Mr. Harris does not feel like a poor man. However, he cannot help but notice how beggars roam the streets of his hometown, trying with their last strength to survive in this ruthless society. This greatly upsets the aristocrat, and when Mr. Harris witnessed the cruel treatment of some of his acquaintances towards beggars, he decided to act decisively.
