A collection of photographs by Tsocho Boyadzhiev, a professor of philosophy at Sofia University. Boyadzhiev says: "Photography is the language of my amazement at the oddness of this world". The title of the photo album, "Punctum", was inspired by French philosopher Roland Barthes and in this case refers to the piercing sensation of seeing a photo for the first time. Boyadzhiev says there is "a basic insanity about photography as it looks at the invisible and contemplates the incomprehensible". Born in 1951, Boyadzhiev has written a number of studies on ancient and medieval philosophy and culture, has authored six books of poems, and has translated works from Old Greek, Latin, and German.
