The monograph is dedicated to the public, military and political figure Ievhen Konovalets (1891–1938). The book examines his primary, gymnasium and university education; activities in the Prosvita society, the Ukrainian Student Union, the Ukrainian National Democratic Party; participation in the First World War, being in Russian captivity, volunteer work in 1917, defense of Ukrainian statehood at the head of the Sich Riflemen military formation during 1918–1919, participation in the anti-Hetman uprising, search for ways to continue the struggle for the revival of statehood, work in the Ukrainian People's Labor Party, management of the Ukrainian Military Organization, cooperation with Ukrainian organizations in the USA and Canada, unification with Ukrainian nationalist forces, creation of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, management of this organization, international activities; some family fragments, the last days of his life, as well as the penetration of the OUN environment by Soviet special services and other issues.
