The monograph focuses on the process of exploration and project approach as a form of territorial development for Siberian regions. The preconditions of formation of modern Russian regional policy are analyzed, the author's definition of the concept of project approach is offered. On the example of the Baikal region, a number of large investment projects are considered, measures and instruments of state support for their implementation are summarized. The analysis of the impact of large projects on the socio-demographic situation of the study area is presented. The comparison of the modern project approach with the organization of development processes in the Soviet period is shown.
