The monograph is devoted to the study of the current state of the main genres of Buryat folklore in Russia, Mongolia and China, and the results of field and archival work. Using the methods of systematic and comparative analysis, the general and special in the local folklore tradition of the Buryats in three states were established. Particular attention is paid to materials of “living” traditions, studied as a subject of folklore and ethnography.
