Descriptions and analysis of Pushkins pictures and drafts play a significant role in studying his creative work. Portrait pictures make the most numerous and intriguing part of Pushkins graphic heritage. Not more than twenty images are annotated by the poet himself or by his contemporaries; the rest of graphic portraits - hundreds of pictures - stay anonymous. Pushkins sketches were searched by all the researchers beginning with the first biographer P. Annenkov.
