The book entitled “The Militia of the Grodno Region” was published on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian police. High points of the life of the militia of Grodno region from the time of its formation to the present day formed the basis of the book. As the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the regional executive committee, Vadim Sinyavsky, stressed, “the history of the militia in the Primensky region keeps many examples of the dedication of the duty of our employees.” It is told in the book about the exploits of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, about the policemen who selflessly fought against banditry, about the investigators who revealed a lot of crimes. Here is a detailed story about all divisions of the Department of Internal Affairs of the regional executive committee and the regional police department. On the pages of the jubilee edition are the names of the police officers listed in the Book of Honor of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus, the Book of Honor of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Regional Executive Committee, honored workers of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs, honored employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, awarded state awards. Immortalized in the book and the names of people who died in the performance of service and military duty. The group of authors included employees of the ideological work and personnel support department of the regional police department, the press service, the militia newspaper, the representatives of the veteran organization, the teacher of the Yanka Kupala State University of Moscow Edmund Yarmusik. Photographs were taken by Sergey Morozov and the well-known Grodno regional specialist Viktor Sayapin. The book will take a worthy place in the museum of the Department of Internal Affairs; it will be received as a gift by labor veterans of the internal affairs bodies.
