The work is an extremely comprehensive and nicely written biography of Joze Plecnik, an architect, who the author studied for decades. Plecnik monitors both the personality and artistic side, from his early youth, his father's workshop through schooling in Graz to the breakthrough to the famous architect Otto Wagner's school in Vienna, where just before the end of the 19th century his rapid rise to the top of the art scene followed by artistic transformation during a trip through Italy and a decade of the most visible creative ascent. The book adorns more than 100 photos.
