The study presents the size of the collection and the thematic diversity of the literature in the library, which was built in 1802-1803 in Vidin by Osman Pazvantoglu (1758-1807). The foundation of the library was his father's personal library and the donations of 115 other people. In 1848-1849, the Vidin Vakuf Library was established, which became a public city library that met the reading needs of the local Muslim population. The institution remains in people's minds as the library of Osman Pazvantoglu. In early 1888, two-thirds of the books were handed over to the Ottoman state. The study also includes 696 volumes of manuscript and old printed books left in storage in Sofia. The task before the researchers is the full disclosure of the collection of this library. The study outlines the guidelines and reveals ideas for the realization of this goal.
