The offered edition consists of two parts and represents the fullest modern collection of materials and researches on the study of Old Russian breast crosses-relics of the XIth - the XIIIth centuries (created in Russia and brought to Russia). The first part of the book offers research on the complex layer of old Russian cult antiquities - crosses-encolpions. The second part of the book includes a "Catalog of Crosses-Encolpions of Old Russia" that counts over 1600 items. The work is based on the biggest collection from museums of Moscow, St.Petersburg, Kiev, as well as materials from other museums of Russia and near abroad (more than 50 museums took part in the creation of the Catalog).
