The book is based on the author’s study of chronological data of the "Tale of Bygone Years" and other Old Russian and foreign sources. The author discovers a variety of ways for time-calculation used in Russia in the Xth - XIIth centuries. This statement poses a task of verifying the accuracy and reliability of the chronological scale of medieval Russian history, because until now it was based on the opinion of uniformity in methods of time-calculation in Kievan Rus.
