I especially emphasize the use of rare images in the best tradition of the so-called visual sociology of Piotr Sztompka, perhaps the most famous contemporary Polish sociologist, in which the theoretical foundations and practices of using photography as a method of sociological research are considered, as well as the key milestones in the development of socially oriented photography are outlined and the path taken towards sociological photography is shown.
