The author of the present book Naum Freiman is famous for his active participation in a number of projects developed by many Jewish organizations in Kharkiv. Pedagogue and historian, professor of the People's University of the Jewish Culture, one of the first authors of the bulletin 'Istoki', he had been learning and collecting the materials connected with history of his native land and city for all his life. The book 'Sketches from the History of the Kharkiv Jews' is the result of this work.
